Wow Mary.. what a lovely top. Can't believe this is your first sewing project. You did such a good job. And I think you look much better than the models in the photos.

That looks great! What a flattering top. You should be thrilled (I would be). Thanks for sharing your experience w/ the pattern (and the picture of the finished product).

Why not sew a snap or two to the front facing & garment front (making it invisible on the outside of the garment) to prevent gaposis? Your top is VERY nice. You should be proud :)

A very impressive top! You did a great job and it looks really good on you. Don't know if I'd make the blouse just yet, but I may look for that pattern just for the easing instructions.

Great looking top. I second the suggestion for a snap -- that way you can keep the flattering V neck.

Mary, the top is extremely nice-looking; you really should be proud of yourself! The gaposis problem you refer to (but which really doesn't show in your pics) is one that probably everyone with a bosom will run into with a wrap top, because the front edge of the blouse is a diagonal, hence on the bias, and it wants to stretch out under the best of circumstances. There is a fairly standard fix for it, which patterns almost never give you, but which Sandra Betzina provides in her book, "Power Sewing, Step-By-Step." She calls it the "No Gap Wrap," and gives great photos of the technique.

Ahhh... I like the snap idea! I do have some and I can easily try that. I ended up wearing it out to dinner with my husband tonight with a tank top, and it seemed like the tank added just a tad too much bulk at the waist (already a lot going on there with all the styling details).

Elona, thanks for that suggestion! I do have that book and when I try this pattern again I'll refer to that technique.

Clever way you had the picture added. The neckline is becoming to you. In fact the whole blouse very good!

Mary, it looks great on you. Since the tank didn't work, maybe a lacy bra would work if you don't mind it showing a bit.

Your top looks really nice. After reading reviews of various wrap tops, I've come to the conclusion that they gap on almost everyone regardless of bust size. If you look at TV you'll notice that often the female newscasters almost always wear a tank top when they wear a wrap top.
