Gorgeous dress! But I suspect would garner quite a few gasps of horror if you decided to wear it as a wedding dress..........!! I know what you mean about cost, a friends daughter wants me to make her a dress like the girls in Pirates of the Carribean - but when I gave her a pattern for it she gasped at how much material it was going to take/cost!

Wow! Exceptional dress. Wonderful detailing. I'd love to make something like this but where would one wear it?

Well, I actually would wear this to my wedding (I love being alternative and freaking people out :)) I have a whole stack of new creations in mind, of which I will surely be posting reviews ;)

Gorgeus dress! Especially on the picture where you're wearing it. And it actually looks better in black than in white :S

Outstanding. The handstitching makes the gown very special. The details and the embellishments are exquisite. Great job.

Well, as soon as I saw "gothic," I thought, oh, I HAVE to look at this one, because my niece is SO into all the gothic stuff, and probably will be forevermore. What a beautiful dress you've created! (Thanks for posting all the pictures.) I've often considered maknig Meliss something along these lines, but as you say, it takes SO much yardage, when push comes to shove, I never feel like I an afford it. I'm glad you got to make yours though. It's really lovely, and all of your attention to detail makes it particularly special.

Beautiful dress! And I'll forever be jealous of anyone who gets to wear a black wedding dress - I had to settle for cream, since I really don't care for white on me.

Drat, one more out-of-print pattern I simply *must* hunt down. :) Your handwork and attention to detail is amazing! Bravo.

Looks lovely - my daughter is getting married in 2 weeks and yes - she is having a black wedding dress. She is not a goth or anything else but black has always been her favourite colour so she thought well, why not!

A very fine effort and a beautiful dress. It would look great in red, too, if you felt like something a bit different.
