Really cute. My guess is that perhaps you made the top out of woven, instead of knit, which may be why the pattern wouldn't go over his head?

I completely love the flaming guitars. My 8 year old nephew would love these. I had the opposite neck problem with a similar pattern as the neckline for the shirt part of my 3 year olds pjs came out huge! But I think I probably just made the wrong size.

Cute PJs. As far as the neckband, measure the ribbing around the childs head and use that length or measurement length of neckline at seam and multiply by .75.
