Mary - thanks for the review. Your top looks very nice. Next time you might want to pin the pattern to the fabric and to tissue paper underneath the fabric, it helps with the growing issue.

Mary, this looks so great on you! Bias hems naturally lettuce a little bit - an effect that I, personally, like.

Well, thanks all. It does look much better on in person than in the photo. Isn't that always the case?

I saw your picture first, & wondered if this was that pattern. This is one of those ones I keep looking at. Thanks for the review. Sorry to hear about the sleeve. :(

Mary, that looks very nice. Could you still do a skirt without a ruffle? Or do a ruffle with a matching/contrasting fabric? The top would look great with slacks or jeans though. Bring it to NYC so we can see it in person. ;-)

Anne, get this, you'll love it. Rhonda, hopefully I can make a newer, smaller one for the trip!

Mary, I think that Kwik Sew has set-in sleeves that are better drafted than most of the other pattern companies. The others usually put way too much ease in the sleeve caps. When using bias, you might want to stabilize the shoulder seam just like you would with a knit. You can use a narrow strip of fusible interfacing, and apply it right after you cut out the fabric. Otherwise, your shoulders can really stretch out a lot. I think your top looks fine, but if you want a less oversized feel, you could go down a size and make a full bust adjustment as you mentioned. (I like to use my upper chest measurement when choosing a Kwik Sew size, and increase only at the bust.)

I agree with everyone. This looks very nice on you. I really like the look of a draped top and am glad your picture is of you wearing the top so I get a better idea of how this would look. I'm inspired to get this pattern; I've been very pleased with my Kwik Sew patterns so far.

Your top looks really nice. Bias cut pieces are hard to work with. Thank you for the review.

Guess what! I have this pattern too! I am catching up on reading reviews today and wow Mary your top looks fabulous. Is this for the PR weekend? I was just wondering if you are sewing something for the fashion show, you may not want to review it before... Might kill the surprise... :) just a thought.

Personally I think your 'bingo granny' dress looks downright classy, contrary to the name. :)
