Aunt Gail, my machine is a Janome 4900. It has a set of decorative stitches specifically meant for topstitching and the like. This is one of them; it's a combination of a long stitch with a short one.

Wow! This coat is really cool. You did a great job. I am also re-working my UFO's and getting them completed. It's a great feeling when you get them done.

Well, I can't figure out how I missed this review in the first place. What a BEAUTIFUL jacket, and the vest, WELL, what can I say? Your PIPING really highlights the flattering lines, and I LOVE the mixture of colors in the fabric. On both garments, the neckline is VERY flattering. Every single time I see one of your jackets, I think, okay, now GO MAKE ONE THAT LENGTH, DIMWIT! (Talking to myself, not you.) And I still having done it! Dimwit is now going to stomp off to the sewing room. :o) BEAUTIFUL JOB, AS USUAL!
