Classy dress! It looks like the fit is feminine and tailored at the same time.

Classic and classy! The raglan sleeve is a nice variation on the shirtdress. You did good.

Thanks for the great review- I actually chuckled out loud, something I don't usually do when reading reviews. Your dress looks great! I envy your wife. Thanks for the heads-up about this pattern, too. I hadn't seen it before, and now I may have to get this one and give it a try. I'd probably make the GF of the GWH dress, though. I need somewhere to place my rifle!

Gecko, Actually, after my wife tried on the dress and I showed her the pattern envelope with the picture of the GWH dress she said that she thought it was "Cute". So I might make her a version as I have the remainder of the bolt to work with. As she is a vegetarian and not a hunter, or sport shooter, I may try to incorporate into the style of the dress, a Great White Cook theme. So instead of the shoulder patch, maybe a sleeve patch/caddy for digital thermometers, and a sash belt for a bevy of wooden stirring spoons. I don't know where this is all going, but the possibilities are endless. or absurd, as you may. John

John, I'm very sorry about the rude comment of another reviewer. If I don't like what I see, I just say nothing and move on. I assumed others did the same thing. I am sorry they do not.

Nancy anne. I was tempted to say something more to the person, but then I checked their profile and they are on a trial membership. This led me to believe that the person is a Troll and it is always best to not feed the Trolls. I couldn't help myself and not say something but I wasn't going to take it any further. I see plenty of things here that I don't like but I certainly don't diss something that another person has spent a lot of energy on and has a lot of pride in enough to post it here. Who am I to say it is something less than they think it is. I always try try keep it light and well meaning. Interestingly enough I had not known of the other review which Gorgeous Things did. She did a stunning job of sewing that A dress and if I had seen it I would have commented on the fact. She is very accomplished in everything I have seen of hers. I am actually going to do a version of View A myself, but I thought I would have fun with the description of View A. Not meaning to cast any aspersions on anybody else's work. Anyway, the two version of the dress are so different as they defy comparison. One is so full of detail and the other is rather plain. I purposely chose the plain version to fulfill a need by my wife for that style of dress without a lot of bells an whistles. So it goes. I'm a big boy and I can take criticism, when it is valid, but I was taken aback by the strange sexual reference to the probably usage by somebody of the dress. That is what makes me think it was a troll, and as such should be forgotten as they are probably somebody that lives in their mothers basement and has an unfulfilled life of emptiness and pain. Too Sad. John

What a sweet husband to make her this while she was away. I think I like the 'going on safari' feel of this view rather than the 'great white hunter' feel of the other. LOL
