Both your skirts are great!! I had a feeling this pattern might be nice without the gathered band. Glad you are over any fear of BWOF. They have some great skirt designs. Nice job on these - they will serve you well this summer. I felt the same as you regarding the hem band and admittedly didn't give the pattern a second thought. Perhaps I should reconsider...
