Betcha that even though your nephew is off the chart, the sleepsack will still be long enough. Can you ask how long the child is from neck to heel, and then compare it with the same measurement on the sack? 9/10/03 10:01 AM

Sherrill, the IDF on my Pfaff helped with topstitching, it was only all the layers where the zipper tape is that it became a problem. Still, fleece hides a multitude of sins. ;-) Pam, the sleeve finishing instructions called for overcasting, turning under and stitching. I skipped edge finishing and zig-zagged, just to see how it would look, and I like it. I also briefly contemplated finishing the arm holes with ribbing. 9/11/03 2:49 AM
JDpenelope said... Beautiful, in spite of your problems. Very informative review--should have read it BEFORE I made this pattern. I agree with you on 2 points--topstitching a nice, straight line is difficult and the area around the zipper is VERY thick and hard to sew through. I just skipped the thick part and started up again below it. Also, I used a decorative, scalloped stitch--it covers up if you wander around the straight line you're supposed to be sewing. 1/17/04 9:49 PM
