Wonderful first effort. You learned a lot about altering when making this dress. It looks very nice.

Wow - a second ever sewing project - I would never have thought that - it is very nice. By next year you will be designing your own creations!!!

And now you have a great basic dress that you can dress up or down as the need is. It fits nicely and was certainly a great workshop for fitting! I love that you decided to go for it.

Fantastic dress, Lucy!! By the way, this *isn't* a plus size pattern -- it just contains a few plus sizes in addition to the regular misses sizes. (Burda puts "Plus" on all patterns that include size 20 [Eur. 46] or higher, even if the pattern starts at size 6 [32]!)

Well, for your 2nd ever sewing pattern, you should be very pleased. It's wearable - better than a lot of RTW I've seen. I'd say the shoulders are a little wide, and the bust might need to be lowered a smidge; it seems to narrow too quickly which is part of what is causing the pulling when you raise your arms. And nothing like a good tug down to get your dress back where it belongs. :) Oh, & congrats on the sway-back alteration!
