Lou. said... The great thing about this fabric is that it presses so nicely, and probably the best bit, it was a seconds fabric, although I am yet to find the fault, and I got it in the wazoodle sale!! 9/11/03 10:30 AM
KathleenS said... You beat me to it Lou - I was just about to review this pattern (the boxers). I'll comment here instead. I agree with your review (very quick and easy to sew, looks like the picture). I'm also not sure about the exposed elastic, especially as mine are black with white elastic. This is a RTW look, but a quick survey revealed that black ones tend to have black or grey elastic, possibly with the manufacturer's name woven into the elastic (hmmm, could we do that? grin "property of Lou" etc.) I'm thinking of applying the elastic to the inside of the top edge, not in a casing, but don't know if that will work. I also cut the elastic longer than the pattern says. Your T-shirts look good too, better than the envelope - I hadn't thought of making them but I might now. 9/11/03 8:22 PM

DH wore the boxers last night, and says he needs a button on the fly!! He also says they're very comfy....at last I have found something to make for him! 9/12/03 9:25 AM
KathleenS said... Try a snap Lou (if you can persuade him). I made my husband some PJ trousers, he requested a placket to be added which I did, then he wanted a button. I felt lazy so put on a snap instead and he says it's actually better than a button in practice. Have yet to have feedback from my husband about the boxers. 9/12/03 10:43 AM
