Gecko said... Well, the color is beautiful and the top looks extremely well made. After your comments about the two-dimensional shape, I looked at the pattern photo, and you can kind of see the issues even on the model. It looks okay on her, but the top is starting to pull in such a way that I'd hesitate to try it for my shape. The neckline is a very pretty (and trendy)feature. Thanks for the informative review. 4/7/09 9:24 AM

michellep74 said... Ugh. I just cut out what I hope to be a wearable muslin of this top. I'm using a fairly stretchy jersey, but your experiences with this are what I was afraid I'd run into from looking at the pattern pieces. We'll see how mine goes... 4/7/09 11:40 AM

Mahogany Stylist said... Great review, Belinda. The ruffle neckline is very appealing to me as well, but I will probably have the same fitting issues as you. At first look, I immediately added the pattern number to my wish list. I may still get it, but may use a front and back pattern. I'm always on the hunt for something different in knit tops. Thanks again for the excellent review. 4/7/09 5:52 PM

I guess I will have to put this detail on a tried and true pattern. Thanks for the very helpful review. 4/7/09 6:21 PM

sewing for fun said... Beautiful job on that neckline. Too bad the pattern is not good for curves. I will take your suggestion & apply neckline to a better fitted top. Thanks! 4/7/09 7:07 PM

Secretsugar said... Gorgeous neckline, and thanks for the heads up on the overall pattern quality. I'd love to see you put the neckline onto a different pattern and then review that! That part at least looks fabulous! I have a vintage rayon dress that uses a similar idea in a panel that goes around the neckline and all the way down both sides of a front bodice button placket... 4/8/09 3:53 PM
