Thanks for the info on how this looks made up and especially the different waist treatments you used. Very helpful!

I have this pattern (who can resist a 50%-off sale?), but I've been eyeing it rather dubiously. You've convinced me that I didn't throw my money away after all. Thanks for the helpful review, Vikki!

Great review! Do you think this would be as slimming on a short (5'3") person or would it be overpowering?

This skirt was featured in Australian Stitches magazine for July 2001. It was modelled by a woman with a mature figure. She used a rayon crepe, and it was very attractive on her. I don't know how tall she was, but I would wear it and I am 5'4".

Peggy, I'm 5'4" and the skirt is flattering on me. It is cut pretty straight and doesn't start to flare until about knee length. I left in the zipper and elastric with darts, but narrowed the waistband width.

Great review, Vikki. I made this pattern when it first came out and love it. Because I have a tilted waist, I scooped out about 2" in the front, eliminated the zip and darts, and used a separate wasitband. This allowed the hemline to hang perfectly straight. Must make this again soon.

Information about good fabric and lining choices is really helpful, as is the fact that you are not tall and skinny. I'd been thinking perhaps this skirt would only look good on that figure type. Thanks.
