Great job and thanks for the tip about cutting out the fabric so both sides are right. I have a very similar pattern by Simplicity, but haven't been able to find the handles, especially the straight ones. Mind sharing where you found them?

this is too cute!! I like your fabric choices better too ;o) (despite the headless surfers, lol). I think I may have to pick this up, buttericks are on sale today! (good idea about carrying the knitting!)

Ann, I got the fabric at Beverly's by my house. They sold out of it quickly, but I know you can get it here. Janet, I aslo got the handles at Beverly's, but I found a couple of sites that sell them, here and here.
