Diane, I like your jacket very much. I love your idea of using an unexpected fabric with a casual jacket.

Good idea! I also plannedd to use a more dressy fabric for this jacket-when I saw the pattern it sort of cried out for wool tweed. I really like the comfy sleeves. This jacket could be made with a stand-up or jean-jacket type collar for a different look. For those of us who are already too "blouson" , it might be better to have a straight hemline rather than the banded waist:).

What an incredible piece of fabric -- it definitely makes a remarkable piece out of an otherwise simple-looking jacket. I'm sure you'll get a lot of comments on this one!

My favorite combination: casual design + dressy fabric. When I was a teenager, I made a hooded parka out of dotted swiss with eyelet trim. This is a sophisticated version. Love it!

Good looking jacket. You always have such lovely stuff. I have a couple of tapestry type pieces from EOS and put them both through the washer and dryer and they are so nice. Look the same but are softer.

Diane, this is so cute - I love your fabric choice! On a side note, do you think you could root for the Marlins now? :-)

Thanks everyone, it is so motivating for me to share with you. Mini, this jacket would be great in wool tweed. Thanks for the idea! Karla, I'll bet that dotted swiss parka was very special. Catherine, what are you going to do with your tapestry fabric? And Gigi, hmmmmm...... I'll take that into serious consideration :)

Hi Bonnie, if the lining is meant to help the jacket slip on and off more easily, I'd underline it, treating the lining fabric as one with the suede. If you're trying to give the inside of the jacket a clean finish, I'd underline and then do a hong kong seam finish. The easiest way is to leave your jacket unlined and let it be casual. This style probably conforms to the body better without an extra layer of fabric. Good luck! Post a review, I'd love to see your finished jacket.
