I definitely like the skirt better with the plaid going diagonal in the front/back. I love a good plaid.

This looks great. Roberta Carr has wonderful information in her book about the difference between having the straight of grain on the side, or CF and CB, or centered down the pattern piece and how it effects the look on your body. She says pick the one that is most flattering, whatever that may be. You found that proper location for your body and this looks great. So, don't worry about where the zipper is!

Yes ~ the seam up the center front is very nice and a flattering design detail. Looks like a good fit as well. Congrats.
