I like your definition of "successful garment." Your photo doesn't enlarge but it looks as though have cut the yoke on crosswise grain and the skirt on the bias. Did the cut-out diagram have you cut on the bias or was that a personal decision? Sandra Betzina says some very favorable things about cutting skirts on the bias. I really like the way your skirt looks.

In reply to Renren, Sorry the photo does not enlarge, I am not sure what I am doing wrong there, know alot more about sewing than computer stuff and yes, the skirt was to be cut on the bias and the yoke on the cross grain. Although I did accidently cut the band out on the lengthwise grain, so recut it on the crossgrain so I could do some matching with the yoke. Also, forgo to mention that I did put the darts in both back and front. Thanks for the comments! My first review.
