Elona said... Wow, you did a lot of work to get your coat, but it certainly was worth it! It looks terrific. I'm glad to read such a detailed review, because I like the lines of this pattern, and it really is useful to know that it may run significantly large.
One note: I bought an unlined, un-interfaced, raw-edged, boiled wool coat almost exactly like this one in France this year--and the nifty thing is that the fabric's body lets you see all those pretty design lines even without the understructure. 2/7/09 11:55 AM

sewituprachel said... You did an amazing job. Well after 10 projects that all came up too large, my mother who was a seamstress for years said, oh, patterns are always a size too large. So I pick the size on the pattern that closest fits my measurements, usually what every is closest on the rounding down of my measurement s and then go another whole size down. It's worked ever time. 10/27/09 3:07 PM
chango said... Oh I just bought size 14-22, I hesitated between the two envelopes, I was afraid that the 12 from the other enveloppe would be too tight...I usually also check out the garment's finished measurement, size 14 is 42 1/2 at the bust, is this too much ease if my bust size is 39? I'm going to do a muslin for sure. Thanks for the review. Your coat looks fabulous! 11/30/09 1:27 PM
