I really like how you modified this cloak pattern into 3 sections, it looks great. Could you describe a bit more what you mean by recommending cutting a short toile for the shoulder area. Thanks :)

I mean to cut out the front and back portion of the cloak in muslin fabric and sew it together. Only cut it long enough to come over your shoulders, about the length of the blue brocade on the top of my cloak in the picture above. you don't want to waste the muslin fabric.
