jcalleja said... How do you do the elastic on yours, with the double needle stitch? is this on a sewing machine? do you sew the elastic on with a zig zag stitch and then fold over and do a double needle stitch? thanks!! 5/28/09 3:41 PM
JEF said... jcalleja - I'm not sure how I got the elastic down initially. I'll either use my serger or zigzag the elastic to the wrong side. I just do whatever is threaded/whatever I feel lik. For these I then folded over and coverstitched. I don't use a double needle on sewing machine but I will zigzag to topstitch the elastic down. I think zigzagging normally looks just fine although coverstitching does look more RTW. 5/29/09 4:59 PM
Marniehau said... I just made up this pattern last night for my daughter to wear this morning (typical huh??) and her response also was the armhole elastic was too tight. Glad you mentioned the proportion of elastic to fabric for the armhole so I can fix it now before she wakes up. I agree that this is a great pattern (but when I make it again I will lengthen the elastic lengths for both armhole (quite a bit) and leg opening (just a bit). 12/10/10 3:55 PM
