Thanks for this review. Perhaps a separate chiffon overskirt on a tie-on ribbon band, or an elastic waist band, would be the answer, rather than trying to marry the woven and stretch fabrics? My daughter's ballet costumes often used this treatment and the nice thing was that the leotard could be reused with a different print overskirt that could be changed at a whim.

I couldn't get the picture to come up but from the little picture, I think it's cute - I'm a fan of purple. I've used glissenette (a fine stretchy sort of mesh) when I wanted that chiffon look on my daughter's skating dresses.

When I want to sew a non stretch fabric skirt onto my skating dresses I don't sew it in between the bodice and panty. First I sew tht bodice and panty together then sew the skirt on with a small zig zag stitch ... it is much easier to control the fabric.
