They look wonderful--I really like the dark denim, and you look like you got a good fit.

They look great. Nice fit through the back, no smiles! Very hard to achieve that, so well done you!

Very nice jeans! Good to know that the pattern has two different styles in one envelope.

Janie, I would guess that in the style I made this would roughly correspond to a 10. I have a pair of size 10 RTW low-waist jeans that fit me much the same except they "smile" more in the back. It seems to be a generously sized pattern. I believe I could wear a 12 even in the slim-cut, but 14 is the smallest in the range I bought. The high-waist is a relaxed fit; based on the preliminary work I've done, that style does seem more roomy. I'm taking it in quite a bit because I don't want the pants any bigger through the hips than this pair. From what I remember about Bill Blass, the relaxed fit would be a similar cut to that. And yes, I did wash and dry the fabric before cutout. I don't prewash everything, but denim I always do.

What would you say the comparison of purchased jean size to the pattern size you used would be? I wear a 20 Bill Blass but the size 24 patterns are too small. Maybe this would be a winner if I knew where to begin. You have a great pair of pants ... you did preshrink the fabric?
