Now that's fantastic. I am so disgusted wtih rtw underwear. For the life of me, I can't find any that fit well, don't crawl up my rear end or look like old lady bloomers. You are really inspiring. I'm going to try making my own. Yours are fantastic - excellent job.

Great undies - I particularly like the notion of no elastic in the legs. You got a really great fit too. Thank you for the review.

Those are fantastic! I bought some super cheap fabric that I'm going to use to experiment with this pattern. So...where the elastic would have gone, you just left the panty hang? Did you turn and stitch without the elastic?

Thanks for the clarification...I'm going to try it!

Your panties look great! I'm in the sew along also and I need to get going on it! By using no elastic on the leg openings, do they ride up your rear more?

Those look great! I am also curious about the riding-up issue - I tend to get VPL at the leg openings too, so I'm contemplating leaving out the elastic as well, whenever I get around to sewing panties. Thanks for the informative review!

I wore the first pair for two days and two washings with a variety of clothing. I don't get any riding up at all. I'm sure that's very fabric/butt/pattern specific so it may not work for everyone. These just happen to work for my shape.

Wow, these look amazing. Very nice job. I bet you can whip out a whole drawer full of these in an afternoon. I really like that wide lace waist band, I'm going to try that!

Wow. What a great review, if this was a contest instead of just a sew'a'long, I'm sure you would have been in the running for first prize.

Great job- I've seen RTW underwear w/o a seam finish and it looks super comfy. These look great.

These look great. I would never think of making underwear but am intrigued by your opinion that these fit better than RTW!

Ohman I'll have to try the "no elastic" next time I make some undies. Great tip, thanks! Very pretty undies, too btw!

Dawn, your undies look fabulous, and given that you have a developed, athletic butt, it was an inspiration to eliminate the elastic on the leg openings. This proves, once and for all time, that your body is the exact prototype for which Jalie drafts. Every Jalie you create looks like a Dream on you, and your pretty little undies are no exception. Lovely, Lily

That does it -- I just have to try making my own undies now. These are fantastic. I love that wide lace. And what an alien concept --- functional, beautiful, comfortable undies! You've achieved the impossible dream. Thank you for a great review.

Great panties! You/your butt should be the model for these, they fit perfectly. ;-)

I've made my own undies before, but I never thought to leave off the leg elastic. I'm going to give this method a try.

Very nice undies. Thank you for the comment on the bar tack. I made some undies a while ago (like a year ago) and the seams are coming undone. I used fray check on the serger stitching, but it is not secure enough. I will use your bar tack tip for all future undies.

Thanks for posting the pictures. They are quite helpful. I made the Hipster as well and did turn under at the leg. I don't like how it looks but that might just be my sewing it poorly. I'll try leaving them raw next time.

Love the no-elastic technique! Thank you for telling about this. I'm doing this now, and it's wonderful.

Great review, Dawn. Thanks so much for being brave enough to model these too. :) It is so helpful. I want some non-VPL undies and I think these may fit the bill.
