Kim Winson said... Hi Lorna! The top fit me very well. There's only a slight amount of extra ease built into the pattern--most of the ease is accomodated by the stretchiness of the fabric. The pattern suggests 2-way stretch fabrics with lycra--it worked well for me. HTH. Kim 11/30/03 10:06 AM

Pam Z said... Looks like the contrast bindings on your suit are from the same fabric as the suit, right? Is there swimsuit elastic encased in this binding? I'm a little confused about where the elastic is applied. 12/1/03 7:26 PM
Kim Winson said... Hi Pam, Yes, I used self-fabric bindings. The elastic is encased in the binding--the fabric of the shoulder strap is wrapped around the elastic and the excess is trimmed. A pair of applique scissor comes in handy when trimming the excess close to the stitches. The fabric on the straps is rippled when NOT worn (the fabric lies flat when worn)--this may be my own inexperience in working with this fabric or it may actually end up like that. Does anyone else have that problem? HTH! Kim 12/2/03 9:11 AM
