What a nice dress for someone young! You did a fabulous job knocking-off the original!

What a great take-off!! It looks EXACTLY the same, & for sure, at a fraction of the retail cost. Your daughter #2 should give you a chance after such success.

CindyAnn- I used McCalls 5800 (used before in the LBD pr) for the bodice and skirt. The bodice in 5800 has princess seams and the original jcrew does not. So I placed the pattern pieces like a puzzle and eliminated the princess seam. be sure to add ease. Then I used 1/2 the skirt pattern piece instead of a front and a back. It worked fine but I did have to shuffle the bodice piece a little as I fit D. Hope this helps!

Kudos on the fabulous knock-off! I agree that a black cotton sateen would make a fun LBD.

Nice work, mom! Isn't it great when you are able to come thru? This is the perfect knock-off.

Nice dress! Youd did a fantastic job on it. What was the orignal pattern that you used for the bodice?
