I have this pattern on my wish list and I think I need to move it up higher after seeing your jeans. They look like a great fit. I have the same question as Raye Ann. Does it sit at the true waist or lower? And my daughter and I were also wondering if you made your top (LOL). The whole outfit is so cute!

Raye Ann, The very top of the waistband just barely covers my belly button. homejewel, yes, I did make my top from Burda 3/2008. It is design 109. I would say the pants are at my true waist, not below. They are definitely a higher rise pant. Thanks everyone for the nice comments!

Man, I LOVE these jeans on you! FUNNY how they look SOOOOOOOOO much better in a SMALL than an XXL! :o)) The WAISTBAND is my FAVORITE part, but I REALLY like those pockets, too. Now that YOU'VE made the pockets, I'm going to put them on my next pair, too. That style of pocket is my FAVORITE. I like the way they feel when you have your hands in your pockets, AND I like the fact that there's no gaping. Oh, and my waistband extended past center front too. I think their picture isn't drawn right. VERY cute! I bet Meggie would like these, too. :o)

I'm always amazed when people make jeans. Trouser style jeans are my favourite and these look great. I would never had known you had made them, the top stitching is impeccable! Amazing.

Sweetiebop, I have nine children (yes, I gave birth to all of them!) ranging in age from 25 years down to 2 years old. Five are daughters, and four are sons. Meggie LuLu is my fourth born. Annette IS a WONDERFUL friend! She is so crazy and FUN..... she definitely makes my life more exciting! Thanks everyone for all the nice comments!

Oh how I NEED this pattern. I passed right over it in the catalog. Thanks for posting all of your photos - I can see that this is likely a good pattern shape for me. Thanks for the link for the denim, as well. I love your topstitching. I would not have thought to do the diagonal stitching at the pocket corners.

Christa, if I were you I'd be tempted to make this pattern over and over again because the fit is so flattering (and it looks comfortable, too)! I love this new version, and love the topstitching. It takes a brave and confident person to do that kind of bold contrast topstitching, but you handled it like a pro. The contour waistband really hugs your waist and gives you a nice slim profile. You look fantastic!

I didn't think it was possible, but I like these jeans even BETTER than the first pair! That RED topstitching just MAKES them, and EVERY SINGLE STITCH is PERFECT, and I mean PERFECT. :o) You TRULY ARE the JEANS QUEEN, as Janie says! LOVE the SHOES, too! :o)
