The fabric may have seemed thick to work with, but the dress looks beautiful! I think it has just the right amount of body to really show off the shape of it. Very pretty fabric; I can see why you picked it.

Very pretty dress. Perhaps we should meet in the middle somewhere (perhaps Las Vegas) and wear our matching fabric dresses! :) The colors are beautiful on your skin tone. I love the June Cleaver look. Thanks for the detailed review.

That looks cute on you. Lucky to find cotton with lycra as it is nice to have that extra stretch, but with the lining is probably mitigated. I can remember those crazy, break at the seam stitching instructions from the early '70's when I first started sewing. They have the same instructions in a crossover t shirt pattern with a midriff. Those are really hard to understand, and I usually mess up. I think kimonos are like that as well, and the instructions really require study. At any rate, lucky you, not to need adjustment.

JudiBee, I totally agree. As a matter of fact, I can travel back in my mind's eye to the cute halter top I was making in the '70s that I never did figure out (who knows how many times I sewed and ripped out that V in the front) and do it in a heartbeat now that I "get it."
