As a fellow "hippy" (of the physical, not philosophical type) I so hear you on flounces. Sad because the fabric really looks good with the pattern! Good job on construction and hope that you have a wonderful vacation!

We were apparently sewing the same pattern at the same time. I understand too well your concern about flounces, but I think you chose a drapey fabric that hangs very well, and your flounce just adds shape and interest, not pounds. I hope that by the time you are back from vacation, you've decided that it's a wonderful skirt, after all.
