I'm mad about ruffles too. Your top still is cute though, and so is your expression.

Even though you had troubles with the ruffles on this, you would never know it by looking at the picture. All I could think was how pretty this top is on you when I saw your picture. I think if I were to use a knit on this top, I would only use a single layer for the ruffles to eliminate some of the weight. You could either serge or leave raw the hem edge of the ruffles. I have seen this pattern before, but never wanted to buy it. Now I do!

Pretty top. I loved to see the picture with the 3 views. You got great results from this pattern.

Can you just remove the ruffles and save this top somehow? I can totally see how doubled ruffles would not work at all in a knit, in fact I don't think you could even hem it without destroying the drape..

Thank you for doing individual reviews for the 3 views you had sewn. I'm not a huge ruffle person, love the way the look in pictures haven't been happy with garments on me. After reading your reviews I went and got the pattern and may even try some of these. Seperate pattern pieces for bust sizes was also a deciding factor.
