Very pretty dress, and this color is lovely on you. I love what you've achieved with all of your fitting alterations. Oh yes, I remember well that (red, I believe) dress that Meg wore. You've hit the mark! And matching shoes--I'm in awe! I agree with you regarding "stretchable" fabrics in that even though the pattern doesn't call for it, that extra bit of 'give' is nice :o). Just a hint: I bought something called "Blister Elixer" (I think that is the name, my daughter took it with her when she moved out!) at an upscale dress shop. (I don't think you can find it in a drugstore, but I haven't looked for it - perhaps at an upscale salon.) It goes on like a lotion, but dries with a powdery finish and prevents blisters from forming. It does help, especially if you only wear the shoes for a few hours at a time. Good luck!
