I made this for myself and my mother. I agree about where the empire waist seam is positioned...can be annoying. I would lower it if I made it again as it's a very comfortable gown. I made the longer version eliminating that huge ruffle and just lengthening it. I did the same for my mothers' and after receiving it in the mail, she had the same comments. I used flannel-backed satin...warm and cozy on the inside and easy tossing and turning. I'll pull it back out when the weather chills.

I think you're right about lowering the waist seam. That flannel-backed satin sounds wonderful!

I have a serious issue. The S is way too tight around the armpits and the M is just too big. How can I adjust the bodice to be sized in-between S and M? I'm using it as a DRESS, not a nightgown. It MUST fit properly.(For Halloween costume).
