Pattern Description: Misses' slightly A-line skirts have low-cut waist finished with facings...
Pattern Sizing: XS-XL; I used a Medium (12/14) based on 38.5 - 40" hip measurement
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes; I made View B/C with pockets and length halfway between the two views.
Were the instructions easy to follow? This is the first Kwik Sew pattern I've tried. The instructions were as well-written as all the other KS reviews have said.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I enjoyed the instructions all being on one page. The diagrams and directions were excellent.
Fabric Used: Robert Allen cotton twill? fabric from the drapery/upholstery remnant table at Hancock Fabrics; I wanted a fabric similar in weight to the denim I plan to use with this pattern later
Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made: I made a Size Medium with no adjustments, other than the length I've already mentioned. The skirt is almost too long; I will make my denim version shorter.
Fit-wise, I think it fits me well in the back -- not too tight and not too big. When I sew this again, I think I'll adjust the center front seam. It needs to fit tighter in front, but the side seams lay correctly. Side View
The skirt has a lapped zipper in back. I still need to sew on a hook and eye.
The pocket instructions were easy to follow. I tried to match the fabric design and succeeded fairly well. I guess the pocket edges got stretched some in handling. They buckle out slightly. Pocket
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I plan to use this pattern for a denim skirt. I highly recommend this pattern.
Conclusion: I am pleased with my test skirt. Now I just need to find the perfect shoes and top to wear with it.
