Pattern Description: Misses knit tops with wrap front, knot front or gathered scoop neck and a variety of sleeves. I made a long sleeve version of view F.
Pattern Sizing: 8-24. I made size 18.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? For the most part. I made a few modifications to suit my needs.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes - the second time around. For some reason the first time I made this one (for my Sister's) top, I had to ask my sewing instructor for help. It looks strange and didn't come natural for me to fold the top portion of the front onto the bottom portion of the front on the same side. After making the first one, however - it does appear clear and there are pictures referencing this part.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? It is a flattering shape for all sizes. I'm a top heavy woman and my Sister is a complete skinny Minnie. This works for both of us. I feel sexy and sophisticated wearing this. I do think that the degree of the plunging neckline on this pattern is way too much. I am fine just sewing it up a bit to make a raised v-neck, but this does end up changing the obviousness of the knot a bit. Still a winner for me, though.
Fabric Used: A pink Jersey Knit fabric called Korrina. I purchased 1.5 yards for $7.17 online at Fabrics.com.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I raised the neckline a bit with a simple stitch and added long sleeves. Since it is mid-October, this will give me tons more use. I still layered it with a cami underneath and feel very cozy.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? This is my second time making this, so I think I will put it aside for a breather. I will try the other versions of this pattern at some point down the line for sure. This has been reviewed on hear a gazillion times, so I think it's safe to say this one goes as "Highly Recommended".
Conclusion: A great wardrobe builder that takes no time at all. I sewed it up entirely last night while watching old episodes of Hose Hunter on HGTV.
