Pattern Sizing: Comes in sizes 4-12; I cut & sewed a size 8
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?Yes, pretty much.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, very with lots of design options. If I hadn't added the collar, the top alone would have taken
me about an hour to complete.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? the collar options & ability to express my own style.
Fabric Used: eclectic print cotton from Urban Outfitters. Also used china silk and some type of slinky material for the collar flower garland.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I made a floral garland for the collar. I did this using a tutorial for a jacket collar I found online for last christmas (link is now inactive). Essentially, you take petal pieces and layer them together & fold twice (when you get a flower shape). After that, I sewed them in a straight garland-like line and attached them to the collar. Then I sandwiched the ends in the
facing and understiched. I am pretty happy with the outcome. It's a j-crew looking finish that I am really into right now.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes! I don't know if I will make the same top but a dress would be very cool.
Conclusion:
