| Pattern Description:
Juniors wardrobe pattern. I made the pants.
Pattern Sizing: Junior and Junior Plus 5/6- 25/26. They run ridiculously big!! According to the size chart, I’m a 14 in the hips and an 18 in the waist. Knowing that the pattern companies seemingly expect us to lie about our waist measurement, I cut a 14 throughout. I actually remembered to try them on before finishing them, and a good thing I did. They were enormous! I sewed 5/8" in from the existing seam allowances at each side, which worked. However, I should have continued all the way down, because these things are so loose and dumpy.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
No; they actually have some semblance of a shape on the envelope.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Didn't use them.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I honestly can't remember why i bought this pattern, but I needed a pair of pants and here was a pattern. Dislike? They have this ridiculous front, exposed zipper. Maybe that'd be cute if I were 16, but not at 32. So instead I did an invisible zipper in the back. Man, I love invisible zippers. I'm so glad I figured them out.
Fabric Used:
Linen from Hancock fabrics.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
Besides the zipper and having to take them in, I left off the pockets. I didn't think they'd look right on the linen.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
No. I'll get a Burda pattern if I want to make more pants.

But, you can't go wrong with Burda pants! | | * * * | | cbowden06 | 10/13/09 | I just want to say thank you for all that you are doing on PR and with your blog...Your blog is so inspiring for a new sewist as myself...I love all of your garments and again you are truly in inspiration.... | | * * * | | SandraB | 10/14/09 | Your pants look pretty good to me. However, I agree with you on the Burda pants patterns. They are really well drafted. | | * * * | | candyo | 10/14/09 | wow, thank you, cbowden06! That is so nice of you! I often wonder if anyone actually reads it! | | * * * | | tinaSA | 3/8/10 | Thanks for the review - I am planning to make these for my not plus-sized daughter and will tissue fit before I cut the fabric. | | * * * | |
