| Pattern Description: Knit Top or Dress with Sash
Pattern Sizing: size 6 to 22 I made size 10
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? yes it was all I hoped it to be
Were the instructions easy to follow? they were okay the pattern never tells you to finish the facing , you finish the neck facing but not the rest, can be confusing for a beginner. Make sure you mark all the dots.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I hate that the two front pieces are not the same length, I can understand one being shorter because of bulk but this is way shorter. I love the princess seams.
Fabric Used: Pima cotton jersey knit from fashion fabric club
Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made: Petite adjustment in the length, I added sleeves to the top. I used a two thread flat lock stitch on my serger, you can see from the photos the ladder effect of the stitch. I used wolly nylon in the lower looper.
Would you sew it again? It’s too distinctive to sew again but my daughter may sew it, for the past three months I have been teaching her to sew. Would you recommend it to others? yes it fits like a glove, the front is not too low
Conclusion: I made this in an evening, it went together quickly and I plan on wearing it this weekend. The weather here has been perfect with the Fall leaves behind our house turning yellow and orange, our back yard is in the Rocky River Reservation (National Park) I still need to post my summer clothes and the leaves will be green giving away to my delay. I’m very excited my daughter seems to have taken to sewing quite naturally! We joined Vogue fabric club and shop the fabric stores often.
sorry my dress form is not straight in the pics, the ground is at a slope and I should have smooth the back of the shoulder before taking the back pic.
