Pattern Description: Jalie Top with sweetheart neckline
Pattern Sizing:from toddler sizes to adult; I made a size Q.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?Exactly, to my surprise.
Were the instructions easy to follow?This was my first Jalie experience and I had a bit of a problem orienting myself to the pictures. In fact, I think I had to stand on my head to figure them out. But that is my issue, not the pattern makers.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?I love the fit and comfort of this top. I also like the fact that for the cost of 1 pattern, I can use this for any sized body, including my granddaughters.
Fabric Used:The first one is a polyester knit from Gorgeous Fabrics. It is very "slinky" but feels wonderful. The second one is a cotton lycra that my granddaughter selected from Emma One Sock. When it arrived, she took one look at it and said, "Mimee, I can't wear that. I'll look like I go to military school." So . . . not wanting to waste the fabric, I decided to call this "Mimee Goes to Afghanistan".click here
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:The fit on this is great. However, I might add some length the next time so that I can belt it. Several reviewers have mentioned that they eliminated the elastic ruching in the front. I used it both times, thinking it might give me a little "definition" on the top! I like the elastic as I think it reinforces the sweetheart neckline look.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?I will definitely make this top -- again and again. Also, I plan to make it for my 7 year old DGD in a fabric more to her liking!
Conclusion: There isn't much I can add to all the reviews that have already been posted on this pattern. But it is definitely going to be a TNT for me.
