Very cute pattern- you were wise to put elastic in at the waist. It's just a costume, after all, so what's the point in taking the time or expense? One thing I Have found is that having costumes like this around comes in surprisingly handy. I can't tell you how many times we have re-used the ones I've made for various family members and occasions. You'll be glad years down the line that you made this.
