Like you, I thought the pattern was more difficult to sew than some reviewers have indicated. (I haven't reviewed mine, yet, due to being out of the country and a million other excuses, including the fact that it has all probably been said.) The short version might tend to look more Maude-ish than the longer one -- which I made and wear wrapped and tied. I also made the Vogue 8463 wrap (also not reviewed--yikes), but I like this one better, because of the nice drape from the neckline. It grows on you -- I wear mine all the time and get compliments. 11/17/09 8:39 AM

JD - Yes, I definitely felt the same way. It was very hard to work with. I would definitely make it better the second time - and it's super comfy. I can't wait to see your review. I sense you emphasize with my frustration - I almost threw it out the window!! But you're right - I really like it now! I can't wait to see your reviews!! 11/17/09 2:55 PM

JDpenelope said... I agree -- It does grow on you! I wore my muslin (of all things) during a late vacation to the UK, over a silk turtle neck and it worked well -- I was unseasonably warm for Nov. It's time for Christmas sewing now, but I would like to make another one. Like you, I am always very critical right after sewing, but something that I thought initially was terrible often turns out to be a favorite. 11/20/09 8:46 PM
