Yikes, way too big for you. You have a nice form, but to use this pattern you need to drop the point of the bust and do an adj for a "hollow chest" so you don't get as much bunching above the bust. As far as the stretch fabric goes, this may be more of a problem with the machine than your technique...stretch should be easy. The sleeves don't even match the pattern as you indicate...pirate style and far east don't go together. I hate spending money on patterns that may as well be started from scratch. Thanks for the review, it was very helpful.

Using a walking foot will help with sewing on stretch fabrics. They're made for quilters but I use mine for much of my sewing. I have this pattern and am glad to read your review before trying it. Thanks.

You're right about the style of the sleeve. The pattern envelope shows regular, eased in sleeves, but the directions on pg. 3, step 23, definitely tell you to "Pull up gathering stitches to fit." The accompanying picture even shows gathering on the sleeve, Thanks for your very useful tip to help avoid this mismatch. Another things you might try to avoid stretching the fabric as you sew, decrease the pressure on the presser foot. Some machines give you this capability and others don't. Hope this helps!
