Thanks, you two. I feel ambivalent about them right now, but perhaps my opinion will change with time :)

I like the pants and the fit is real good. I might have to look at this pattern.

Nice pants, great color for winterclothes. Maybe you could even lengthen them a bit more, (just personal pref) but their neat pants regardless

Very cute pants. Thanks so much for the reference to Betzina's video on how to install fly front!!! So helpful!

Hi Amy, For right out of the envelope, these slacks fit very well. I think they will make a TNT for you. I agree about the extra fabric at the hip. I would take a horizontal tuck in the pattern piece starting at the side seam and tapering to nothing at the fly. I would do this close to the waist seam since that is where the excess seems to be. This would help the slight skew of the bottom of the leg toward the inseam as well. For the back you might want to do the fish-eye tuck that Debbie Cook describes click here All in all I think these look very good. Good luck in tweaking them further.

Thanks, everyone. Rosered, I think I agree with you about the length. I should have checked the length when wearing shoes...I knew better, but got a little careless there! CT Barb, thank you for those suggestions. I wasn't sure I was going to make them again, but now I'm curious to see how those alterations would play out. Fun!

That's a pretty good fit. I just made my daughter one of those amazing fit pants patterns (different one) and I agree with you about the zipper application. It's awful. I tried it (against my better judgement), and will go back to Sandra's way. Other than length and some minor tweaking (one high hip maybe, and the fisheye tuck), it looks nice. Wonderful color.

I think they look really good. The fit through the waist looks excellent and they appear really well constructed.

Great looking pants, Amy. I have this pattern and want to try it out. I appreciated reading about the fly front instructions problems and recommendation to the Sandra Betzina method. Thanks :-)
