Cliff hanger!!! I just hope this isn't last episode of the season and I have to wait in suspenders for 3 months, ARRRGH!!!
Oh yeah, and nice dress!

persevering said... Ooh! About 3 decades ago, I made what looks like your dress - yes small white polka dotted on black - it was pure silk (crepe?) - but it must have been another pattern, which I no longer have - and the dress - Alas! I donated it some years ago when it didn't fit. Your dress fits superbly and what a pleasure to read your review! 12/15/09 11:06 PM

QuickFade said... I love the burdastyle dress you linked to. It may be more of an issue of physique rather than age. I read that if you select styles that are shaped like you, they look best and most flattering. So, an hourglass would select an hourglass shaped style, a rectangle would select a rectangular shaped style. I have personally found this is true. For example, I am an hourglass and that burdastyle dress would work well for me even though I am just weeks from fifty years old. 12/16/09 0:51 AM

Look around the edges of your pattern, a lot of them have copyright dates and you might find the exact date of Simp. 2781, but you can almost pinpoint it exactly by the hair and styling of the fashion drawings on the front, can't you? May one, be encouraged to hope that Cathy night have an evening gown adventure in the future? Great work! 12/16/09 6:51 AM

A technical question - are you really having no trouble with the wondertape? I used it once years ago and it never washed out (and you could see it through the fabric) so I have stayed far away. You recent recommendations have me thinking about trying it again. 12/16/09 9:31 AM

Peter in NYC said... I've done it myself, Colorkitten. Thanks for all the comments, everyone. Hopefully my liability insurance will cover the spilled tea, regurgitated breakfasts, and insomnia I have caused. As far as being able to wash out Wonder Tape, my dirty little secret is that I have never tried! I've only used it on the underside of zippers on thick fabrics, so I don't think it would matter much either way.
Michelle, rest assured that Cathy will be back with more exciting adventures, stylish outfits, and smart accessories. She MAY even have a twist-n-turn waist and bendable knees!
Seriously, Cathy will be delighted to know that she has so many fans. She longs to be the Lana Turner of Pattern Review. 12/16/09 10:45 AM
