It's great as it is, but it's a good base if you want to add larger allowances and do a flat-felled seam, or do a more attractive sleeve placket. It also lends itself well to tweaking to a particular shape, as you found out. My DBF is only 5'6", and looks like he's wearing dad's shirts unless I make them.
