Great job, and good review. This is one of my favorite bag patterns. I agree that the zipper insertion is wonderfully easy. I have made many of these bags. Recently I made one without the straps, for my boyfriend's dad to keep his diabetes stuff in. I've also made one with loop for carrying, rather than a strap.
