Looks like a great coat. How unusual to see this style in plaid. The button looks good here; ties would have been too much with the plaid I think.

I love what you have done here, and was myself thinking of button options rather than a tie. I am glad it is designed to take such a variety of fabrics and is so simple to sew- about to make this in a wool melton fabric when it arrives in the mail!
