That is adorable. The sweater would also look good with a straight skirt that is pegged at the knees or that has a pegged effect and a ruffle at the bottom. This would add femininity and curves and interupt the long line a little. The sweater would also look good a bit cropped so that the bottom is below your waist but well above your hip measurement line. You can also pad the shoulders slightly for a V effect and can make these removable for different looks. Another look would be to sew tiny ruffles down the front at an angle from shoulder to center front waist in several rows to add depth at front and increase the hourglass effect.

Your cardi looks heaps better than the pattern envelope one. You are right about why should the camisole pattern be the same front and back.

You're right again, PA! I am kinda going for a vintage look...well, vintage casual if there is such a thing. What you describe would be my perfect cardi and skirt! Thanks for the ideas!
