Updated to add a new picture taken for stash contest. Blogged here Click Here. Note - I have tried and tried to change my thumbnail pic, but it is the original pic from a couple of years ago. However, if you clic on the thumbnail, it does take you to the new pic.
I saved these basic directions from a pattern list about 10 years ago. Since then, I've made quite a few and have modified the pattern for different sized pillows. My kids are outgrowing (and the material is wearing out) the first pillowcases I made them, so I decided it was time for new ones. I used almost all stash cottons. I purchased the pink and yellow dotted fabric in December 2009 and that was the only fabric I had that matched the pink girly print. (I didn't include that fabric in my stash totals). The brown in three of the pillowcases is the same and it was a remnant (still wrapped and dated) from a few years ago.
Directions: The three sizes are 28 X 41 inches, 9 X 41 inches, and 2 X 41 inches. Sew each section into a loop (28 inch, 9 inch, and 2 inch sides). Sew the end closed on the largest pieces (If your print is directional you may want to turn right side out to determine which end you want open and which end you want to have the trim). Create a sandwich matching the smallest strip between the larger two strips. Sew or serge in the round, topstitch, clip threads and you are done.
