Is it possible that the middriff piece is upside down? Just a guess.

I used the bodice of this pattern to reconstruct a maxi dress. I read the instructions a couple times, but the key for me was clipping the strap before pinning it to the armhole area. I might just be inept at getting two opposite facing curves to go together, but the clipping was quite necessary for me. I also, in hindsight, wish I would have hand stitched the last part of the strap, after turning, when you fold the seam allowance in on the back side. It's much neater than stitching in the ditch and praying you catch that edge.

I am in the process of making this dress and I believe the difficulty that tessture is having is because the pictures of the strap to bodice construction are wrong. They show the straps being joined along the inward curved edge when infact you have to join the outward curved edge of the strap to the top of the bodice section. When I have finished the dress I will post a separate review of my own.
