can you describe what steps were missing in the zipper insertion? I have the pattern and would like to make the zipper part flawless. Or, if you find that hard to describe, is there a method you normally use that you can resource me to?

I am working on this pattern & you are so right about the instructions! I totally ignored the flyzipper instructions & went with the Sandra Betzina video online. Pitty a novice sewer, so many patterns seem to be skimpy w instructions and illustrations these days.

Longarm: I think the major step that the pattern is missing is to take out the basting stitches on the zipper. Honestly, if you are going to make this pattern, do a muslin first since you may need to rework the pattern.
