Both! The back of the pattern calls for a 9" slide fastener, but then the instructions have an option for snaps and hooks and eyes. Both have a bias facings and underlaps.

Can't wait to see the results! I'm curious, what is the side closure? Snaps or zipper? (I was surprised to find snap closing sides in some early 1940s patterns the other day.)
