HI, what is the "Jalie band detail"? I've searched the net but can't find out what it is ...?

The "Jalie band detail" is how Jalie patterns tend to do their t-shirt necklines; it is to sew on a separate "band" of fabric to the neckline (or sleeve, or even hem). 1) Cut out a rectangle of self fabric, greatest stretch in the lengthwise direction (in this case 35 x 62mm = width of finished band + seam allowance x 2; length should be a bit shorter than the neckline so that the band sits snugly, plus 2 x seam allowance). 2) Fold band in half, short seams together, with right sides together, sew to make a big circle. 3) Fold band in half lengthwise, with wrong sides together. You can now baste the seam allowances together, then pin the band to mark 1/4 distances (dito on neckline), pin the band to the neckline right sides together, matching 1/4 distances, sew/serger stretching slightly as you go. 3) Press seam towards garment. 4) If you wish you can topstitch around the neckline, going thru the thickness of the band/neckline seam allowance. If you visit the Jalie website, you can view/print their instructions. Look at pattern 2805, View A, Step 2 in instructions & photos (usually you can consult their patterns, this morning the site is in a bit of a bad mood....".
